A Veteran's return home is a joyous occasion. But what happens after the parade? What happens when the "Welcome Home" sign wears out? What's Next for NYC's Vets? For many veterans it's not easy to simply drop the guns and pick up a toolbelt or a briefcase. Returning vets struggle with a host of issues like PTSD, re-entering their families, finding a job to pay the bills, or the manifestation of all things gone wrong, suicide. That's where Services for the Underserved comes in. SUS is there after the parade to help NYC's Vets connect with the resources and support they need to adjust to civilian life. In launching the After The Parade campaign, SUS issues a rallying cry to all New Yorkers- Join hands. Walk the walk. Support our veterans long after the parade is over.
